Wesley's real wish was to meet Rascal Flatts but due to his wish becoming a Rush Wish, we were able to get him a Rascal Flatts video where they videoed a 20 second message for him and he wanted to give his mother and sister something special to remember him by.
Wesley rallied because of his wish and we have no doubt about that based on how he had been doing. In the beginning, his wish was to meet Rascal Flatts. Due to his wish becoming a Rush Wish, we were able to get him a Rascal Flatts video where they videoed about 20 seconds of a message just for him. They mentioned that they had read his song and how much that they loved it. You could tell Wesley couldn’t believe that Rascal Flatt's had done a video just for him. Through Jewelers for Children, we were able to do something very special for his mother and sister, per Wesley’s request, to help them to always remember him. The first thing that he wanted to do when his wish granters arrived was to build the anticipation about the special gifts of jewelry (his mother had a beautiful key pendent to symbolize the key to his heart and his sister's was simply a heart). So he gave them the other gifts first and then asked his mom and sister to leave the room. He then wanted his wish granters to help him make them a card. He told the wish granters what to write and then he wanted to sign them. He was really serious about them not knowing what he was up to because he wanted everyone to be very quiet and he made the home health nurse watch out. He simply wanted to make sure that everything was perfect. He put the gifts on his lap and then his mom and sister came back in. He was rushing his mother to open her gift because he simply couldn't wait to see her face when she saw it. His mom’s necklace had real gold and real diamonds and he was absolutely amazed that he gave them REAL diamonds. His mother told him that he had given her the key to his heart and he told her that it is the key to heaven so that she could come and see him. Then it was his sister’s turn and she loved the gift of his heart. Afterwards, they made a picnic lunch in the living room and he wanted to see everything that was brought in. He was very concerned that everyone had enough food and they all ate together. He was the host in every possible way.
It was such a wonderful day watching Wesley being so excited to give the gifts to his mom and sister.
