The activities Make-A-Wish planned did not disappoint – McKenzie absolutely loved flying through the air on the zipline, including upside-down and backwards! Even when McKenzie was getting ready for her wish, she said many times that zip lining was her new favorite thing to do. Much to her worried mom’s dismay, she was the first in line at every platform and could not wait to soar through the canopy! McKenzie listened carefully to the instructor’s directions on how to treat the dolphin, and she did not hesitate when it was her turn to grab onto the fins for a belly ride! She was amazed at how the dolphin actually swam by sideways and she had to grab the fin that was up out of the water and then he flipped over so that she could grab the other fin. She said, "it was so cool!" She talked about how neat it was to learn about dolphins, in addition to getting to swim with them. She was surprised by how slick their bodies were, instead of feeling rubbery. The whole family loved interacting with the dolphin in the water and created memories that will last a lifetime. After her wish was over, McKenzie said that she couldn't wait to go back to Hawaii one day, "it was so much fun!"
McKenzie's special trip to the jewelry store also including getting to try on all sorts of beautiful jewels and a lesson on her birthstone from the jewelers just made the anticipation of her trip that much greater. The necklace is absolutely stunning, and McKenzie felt so special having her own piece of Hawaii to take home with her and remember her wish experience forever!
