Wish Kid Chase Hits Gold

Chase’s wish to meet the mine bosses of Gold Rush to be featured on Discovery

Knoxville, TN (February 20, 2020) A child that received his wish from Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, in cooperation with Make-A-Wish East Tennessee, will be featured on an upcoming episode of the hit “Gold Rush” after-show “The Dirt.”

Chase, a nine-year-old from Boca Raton, Fla., received his wish to meet the mine bosses of “Gold Rush.” Make-A-Wish Southern Florida worked with Make-A-Wish East Tennessee to plan and fulfill Chase’s wish. Discovery has corporate offices in Knoxville, Tenn., and that’s where Chase met Parker Schnabel, Rick Ness and Tony Beets of Discovery's top-rated show.

Chase spent time with the miners during their visit. He was especially interested in spending time with his favorite mine boss, Tony Beets. In fact, Tony taught Chase the best techniques to pan for gold.

While in East Tennessee, Chase visited area attractions including Titanic Museum, Tuckaleechee Caverns, and a gem mine and other sites in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

“The Dirt,” which includes scenes with Chase, airs Friday, February 21 at 10 PM ET/PT on Discovery.
